2. Combine peaches, ginger, lime juice, and agave nectar in a 2-cup cocktail shaker. Using a muddler or pestle, gently muddle mixture.

3. Fill the shaker halfway with ice, then add tequila and Cointreau. Cover and shake well until shaker is frosty and cold.

4. Fill prepared glass with ice. Strain margarita into it and garnish with peach slice.


1 oz. fresh pineapple juice

Muddle the fresh rosemary in a cocktail shaker.

Combine the tequila, pineapple juice, lime juice, and simple syrup into a cocktail shaker with ice. Shake well.


2 ounces fresh strawberries , with stems removed (or frozen strawberries)

1 1/2 slices lime, for garnish

Blend all ingredients with ice. Garnish with slices of strawberry and lime and a basil leaf.


.5 parts Fresh Lemon Juice

.75 parts Watermelon Juice

2 parts Rose Sparkling Wine

Combine all ingredients, except sparkling wine, in a cocktail shaker and add ice. Shake, strain, and pour into a champagne flute. Garnish with a lemon twist.

1 can (12-ounce) frozen orange juice concentrate

6 ounce ginger liqueur (like Domaine de Canton)

2 tablespoons kosher or margarita salt

Crystallized ginger, optional

1. Place frozen orange juice concentrate (reserve 1 tablespoon), tequila, ginger liqueur, ginger, and ice in a blender and mix until ice is crushed.

2. Place reserved tablespoon concentrate on a small plate and salt on another small plate. Dip rims of 4 glasses in concentrate and then in salt. Fill glasses, garnish with crystallized ginger if desired, and serve.

How to Make a Classic Margarita

The classic garnish for a margarita is a salt rim. To achieve this for a crowd, fill a saucer with lime juice, water, or a mix of the two. Fill a second saucer with kosher salt or coarse sea salt. If youɽ like, you can add lime zest, chili powder, or other seasonings to the salt. If you're adding spices, mix no more than one part spice to three parts salt.

I prefer a rocks glass for a classic margarita, but use a margarita glass if you must. If you're prepping several margaritas, turn your glass upside-down, place it in the saucer of lime juice at an angle, and turn the cup so that just the outside lip of the glass is wetted by the lime and water mixture. Immediately place the rim of the glass flat into the saucer of salt, then lift, turn the glass right-side-up, set aside, and repeat with remaining glasses. It's important to moisten just the outside of the glass so that you don't get salt inside the glass, which can throw off the flavors of the drink.

Think back to when you were at a party and the hostess asked “Who wants a frozen margarita?” At the parties I’ve been to, a good number of people shout “I’ll have one!”

Margaritas always seem to be a hit. Now you can serve them up whether you are having Mexican food or not. Margaritas are great anytime and with any food.

Try our recipe and see if your guests don’t think these are some of the best they’ve tried. Cinco de Mayo would be a perfect time.

Here is our margarita recipe that is easy to make.

Robin’s Margarita Recipe (Serves 4)

  • 2 oz. Lime Juice
  • 12 oz. Sweet and Sour
  • 6 oz. 100% agave Tequila
  • 2 oz. Triple Sec
  • 2tsp. simple sugar
  • 2 -2 1/2 cups of ice

Make your simple sugar first so it has time to cool.

Add 1/2 cup of sugar and 1/2 cup water to a sauce pan and heat over medium heat. Stir constantly until the sugar has completely dissolved. Set aside and cool.

You can store the simple sugar in a container with a lid for a month or two.

Now add all the liquid ingredients to the blender and then add the ice. You might have to adjust the amount of ice you use depending how thick you like your margaritas. Play with this until you get the consistency that you like.

If your guests like salt, rub the rim of a margarita glass with lime and dip dip into the salt. Pour margaritas into these nice margarita glasses and garnish with a wedge of lime.

Margarita Recipe For A Crowd


  • 2 liters of Jose Cuervo or 100% agave Tequila
  • 1 liter Triple Sec
  • 2 liters of Sweet N Sour

Mix the above in a large pot and stir with a whisk to combine. Use a measuring cup with a pour spout and a funnel (if you don’t have good aim!) and pour the mix back into all the bottles you just emptied.

Store these in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve margaritas.

When it’s time to make another batch of margaritas, fill your blender 3/4 or so with ice and pour in your mix. You will want to cover the ice with mix. After you do this a time or two you will learn how much ice to use depending on the consistency you like.

Less ice means a thinner consistency.

You can rub the rim of your margarita glass with lime and then dip it in salt. You can also put a wedge or slice of lime on the rim for a festive look.

A basic margarita recipe calls for hefty doses of tequila and citrus liqueur along with lime juice and some sweetness from simple syrup, sour mix or other bottled mixes. Those sugary mixes are the worst offenders, adding 7 teaspoons of sugar per serving! Get sweetness from fresh fruit juice instead – you’ll get some extra vitamin C that way too. You also want to cut back on the booze. All that alcohol will cost you 100 calories per ounce on average -- and it adds up fast.

The first step is downsizing from the gigantic glass to keep calories reasonable. What about the classic salted rim? Well, a sprinkle of salt is fine, but, again, don't choose a margarita glass with a 12-inch diameter! Use a smaller glass to cut the salt, or pass on the extra salt of you have high blood pressure.

For our Citrus Burst Margaritas (recipe below) we cut back on the alcohol and boosted the flavor with freshly squeezed citrus. We used a combination of 1/4 cup lime juice and 3/4 cup freshly squeezed OJ -- lemon, tangerine, blood orange or grapefruit juice would also be delicious. Finally, we topped things off with a refreshing touch of fizz.

  • 1 lime wedge, plus 2 lime wheels for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt, for glass rims
  • 4 ounces (120ml) high-quality blanco tequila (see note)
  • 2 ounces (60ml) Cointreau
  • 1 1/2 ounces (45ml) fresh juice from 2 limes

Run lime wedge around the outer rims of 2 rocks glasses and dip rims in salt. Set aside.

In a cocktail shaker, combine tequila, Cointreau, and lime juice. Fill with ice and shake until thoroughly chilled, about 15 seconds (the bottom of a metal shaker should frost over).

Fill glasses with fresh ice and strain margarita into both glasses. Garnish with lime wheels and serve.

Just add the ingredients to a cocktail tin, give it a good shake back and forth until the metal is cold, then strain the mixture into a glass with fresh ice. This will give you a classic, fresh lime margarita suitable for any tequila lover. But if you want to sprinkle a little extra magic into your marg try some of these additions that will make the cocktail really shine.

Pureed Fruit

If you’re not a huge fan of tequila, an easy way to mask the somewhat pungent alcohol is to sweeten it up with pureed fruit, like mango, pineapple or strawberry. The sugary sweetness from the fruit complements the tart citrus flavors of the lime and orange liqueur. Add your chosen fruit into a blender with simple syrup and lime juice. Blend until smooth, then taste the puree and adjust the simple syrup and lime juice accordingly. Once the fruit is pureed just scoop about two tablespoons into a cocktail shaker with the rest of the ingredients, shake until well combined and strain over a glass with fresh ice.


If you like sweet drinks but you don’t want to use fruit (which can sometimes mask the sought after flavor of a margarita), try using agave instead. Agave nectar comes from the agave plant and is sometimes used as a substitute for honey or maple syrup. Because tequila is distilled from the blue agave plant, it’s sort of a no brainer that agave nectar would work well as a natural sweetener in a margarita. Just add one tablespoon of agave to a cocktail shaker with tequila, triple sec and lime juice, shake, strain and enjoy!

For all of you hot sauce loving, hot pepper eating, want to burn a little bit of your taste buds off people — you can bring that same energy to your marg with one simple ingredient: jalapenos. Triple sec is possibly the most well-known type of orange liqueur, so much so that it’s become a generic way of referring to the alcohol. Triple sec is made with sweet and bitter oranges, which gives it a very poignant orange, citrusy flavor that can make your margarita light and fragrant. But if you want something a bit heavier with hints of oakiness, try using Grand Marnier, which is made with cognac and bitter oranges. Grand Marnier can be enjoyed in a rocks glass neat, but when added to your margarita it will make the cocktail heavier and sweeter.


Margaritas are already a refreshing cocktail, but one way to make the beverage shine even brighter is to add cucumber to the ingredients list. Not only is the water based fruit absolutely revitalizing but its cool flavor will add a nice touch to your marg without loading it with extra sugar. Classic Margarita


  • 2 ounces silver tequila
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice
  • Ice
  • Salt (optional)
  • Two lime wedges (optional)


Step 1: In a cocktail shaker with ice, combine 2 ounces silver tequila, 1 ounce triple sec and 1 ounce lime juice. Shake vigorously.

Step 2: Rub a lime wedge around your cocktail glass and dip the glass in salt for a salt rim (optional). Then fill the glass with fresh ice and strain the margarita mixture into the glass.

How to Make Homemade Sweet and Sour Mix

  • Start with a cup of granulated sugar.
  • Add water and simmer over medium heat until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Next, add half a cup each of fresh lemon and lime juice. You’ll need about seven plump lemons and limes. Helpful tip alert! Microwave your fruit for about ten seconds and then roll on the counter with your hand to get those juices flowing.
  • Your Sweet and Sour Mix is now ready! You can store it in a sealed container in the fridge for about a week, or even longer in the freezer.
